Provide leadership and direction to the Team to ensure all operational goals are met to include Safety, Quality, Profitability, Production, and Customer Service. Provide business excellence through linkages throughout the organization by way of cooperation and support with all functions including Sales, Customer Service, Human Resources, Finance and Engineering. Provide and communicate a clear vision for profitable growth through implementation of World-Class techniques that will provide sustainable improvements.The Operations Manager must have the ability to challenge traditional boundaries and beliefs and then eliminate the barriers to change and support innovation through technology, service, and cultural improvements. Through strong communication acting as a “Change Agent” and “Team Builder” is key to this position.
Willingness to share responsibility by empowering and delegating tasks to subordinates and holding them accountable for performance is critical to success. Driving results through the RAM (Responsibility, Accountability, Measurement) Process using quantifiable performance measures focused on tangible improvements.Essential Duties:
- Responsible for a clean, safe, environmentally responsible workplace.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and professional standards within the facility.
- Develop and implement optimization process to support the operational objectives and advise on the ongoing continuous improvement efforts in the facility.
- Support sales and profit goals by providing a reliable supply of quality products, on time at the lowest possible costs.
- Implement and support training programs to continuously raise the level of performance of the operations area.
- Act as a mentor for developing new employees and as a coach for teaching and challenging people out of their comfort zones.
- Organize and develop training and educational materials for the workforce.
- Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
- Manage area of responsibility so that all activities are in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities in a positive and engaging fashion
- Present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on performance as requested.
- Creative problem-solving skills and strong independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of problems associated with the position.
- Organized, clear and logical thinker with the ability to prioritize and sort complex issues while driving to the root cause solution and resolution.
- Pro-active, results oriented team leader adept at assessing business needs, outlining solutions, implementing new processes, and managing multiple functions simultaneously.
- Project management skills in the areas of 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Solid leadership skills in motivating and inspiring the workforce.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to identify OSHA compliance issues and control hazards.
- Experience with SAP and SalesForce systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- At least 5 years of manufacturing experience in a supervisory role.
- Bachelor's degree in technology, manufacturing, supervision, or related field (or equivalent) preferred.
