- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience as a pipefitter, maintenance mechanic, millwright (industrial setting preferred), preferably in a chemical plant environment or 4 years military in mechanical repair field or Vocational School Certificate in a relevant field with 3 or more years relevant experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required
- Mechanical Journeyman Card or License preferred
- NCCER Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Millwright training/certificate(s) are desirable.
- The ability to read & follow detailed operating, maintenance and safety procedures. Must be fluent in English
- Proficient in pipefitting, joint repair, gasketing and bolting selection.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment, such as, pumps, agitators, filters, piping, valves, conveyors, etc.
- Welding experience is desirable
- Familiarity with various computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and SAP is an asset
- Safe use of hydraulic, pneumatic and electric power tools
- Mechanical Aptitude – use of precision measurement tools and assembly techniques.
- Excellent communications skills
- The ability to lift & carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds in weight.
- Must be able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as a full face respirator (no facial hair), SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus)
- Working outside in temperature extremes and noisy environment
- Physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders
- Able to work in outdoor environment in all seasonal weather extremes.
- Safely and efficiently perform predictive, preventive and repair maintenance activities.
- Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process. Report deviations, equipment failures, and hazards; and assist in plant investigations and problem resolutions.
- Completes work documentation such as paperwork and computer system entries associated with the job.
- Able to use company computer systems to obtain spare parts for equipment repairs and complete any documentation / reports as required.
- Participate and successfully complete training and development activities. Provide on–the–job training and mentoring for other maintenance personnel as required.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, display safe working practices in all duties and identify, correct and report hazardous situations.
- Ensure adherence to the INEOS Pigments Process and Behavioral Safety Principles and Life Saving Rules.
- Complete reports and documentation accurately as required.
- Review, comprehend and follow all Departmental rules, policies, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
