- Responsible for operation and care of all survey instruments including Total Station, level, and GPS.
- Will be responsible for performing property surveys, topographic survey and mapping, construction stakeout and other survey projects for private, government and commercial clients.
- Read and understand survey notes, sketches, maps, deeds, as-builts, construction plans and drawings and records.
- Use appropriate survey equipment, conventional, GPS/GNSS and laser scanning, to efficiently and accurately perform a wide range of field survey procedures. ·
- Take survey field notes, sketches, and other written records on a daily basis.
- Perform QA/QC to verify that the data complies with the project requirements.
- Performs basic maintenance of the survey field equipment and understand its operation.
- Keep survey field vehicle in good condition.
- Understand and follow all applicable safety procedures.
- Travel up to 70% for up to 3 - 10 days at a time.
- Bachelor's Degree or demonstrated equivalency of site surveying experience and/or education
- Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation platforms
- Valid driver's license, and as a condition of employment must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- Familiarity and download procedures - raw data processing AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation platforms Excel/Word Software
- Railroad knowledge or experience a plus
- Experience with Federal and government clients a plus
- Willingness to travel extensively to multiple project sites from 3-10 days at a time. Up to 70% travel with a varied work load
- 4 years of site surveying with railroad knowledge or experience a plus
- Experience supervising site survey teams
