When you join the growing Fourth Street Clinic team, you're not just taking a job; you're impacting the lives of others.Position SummaryThis position is for a part-time or full-time pharmacy technician. The pharmacy technician will work as part of a team to assist the pharmacist and other technicians in dispensing medications to patients safely and accurately. They will oversee the pharmacy's inventory and its associated sourcing and reports. The in-clinic pharmacy is a closed-door pharmacy serving only patients who are seen by the in-clinic prescribers. It manages and maintains all medications prescribed for outpatient use and in-clinic administration.Principal Responsibilities:
  • Process prescriptions and prepare medications to be dispensed using professional standards and abiding by State and Federal Laws.
  • Interact with patients and clinic staff to process prescriptions.
  • Interact with patients in a fair, accurate, impartial, and culturally sensitive manner to provide excellent customer service.
  • Problem-solving to remove barriers between patients and their prescriptions.
  • Manage inventory through acquisition, returns, monitoring, and monthly reports.
  • Check patients' Medicaid eligibility and adjudicate claims.
  • Assist in the enrollment of Patient Assistance Programs.
  • Answer phone and fax.
  • Maintain pharmacy records and reports.
  • Follow security and safety plans.
  • Maintain equipment and working areas.
  • Administer vaccinations (if certified). Preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in the State of Utah.
  • Experience with the usage of electronic medical records or experience in a medical office.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer proficiency.
  • Experience in working with underserved populations or in public health settings.
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; with emphasis on accurate prioritization of the pharmacy's needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, empathetic, and the ability to de-escalate.
  • Credentialed/certified to immunize preferred, but not required.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds.
  • The ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but not required.
