- Assists with workers' compensation claims; Forward documentation/reports to the claims department.
- Maintains safety files and documentation, records, and training database. Monitors training database for expiration of training dates, assist with scheduling training.
- Assists in preparing all notices required by OSHA, MSHA and other agencies.
- Responsible for maintaining, updating, and distribution of safety related programs, including calculations for the safety incentive program.
- Assist with AED rental, fire extinguisher, and First Aid inspection program.
- Order and issue PPE and Safety Boot Voucher as needed.
- An active role as a Safety Champion coordinator (scheduling, meeting minutes, follow-up items).
- Manage driver safety programs including Motive camera monitoring, driver coaching, and driver training.
- Assists with new employee safety orientation and other required safety training.
- Assist the Safety Manager with administrative duties such as year-end reporting, review permit compliance and assisting with SDS management for all facilities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Safety experience is preferred.
- Must have a state issues valid driver's license.
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications.
- Strong communication skills are necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to changing schedules and projects
- Strong ability to research regulatory rules and regulations
- Long periods of sitting and looking at computer screens
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
