Our goal is to create a workplace where all employees feel included, empowered and enabled to perform at their best.Our Executive Liability Division underwrites Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance, Employment Practices Liability Insurance, and Fiduciary Liability Insurance for public, private and not for profit companies.The Executive Liability Division is searching for an Accounting Specialist who will have responsibility for several aspects of Divisional Financial reporting.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Compiles, consolidates, and analyzes accounting and finance information to produce statements, schedules, filings, and reports of a complex nature.
  • Responsible for the complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for the development of financial statements and reports.
  • Assists with analysis in support of annual budget process, expense forecasts, and variance explanations.
  • Conducts special studies and develops and implements accounting methods and procedures.
  • Manages relationship between the accounting group and other departments, locations, divisions, and external customers, including MGA and Reinsurance reporting.
  • Provides technical advice to lower-level positions and other functional areas.
  • May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
  • Monitors the inbox for and responds to report requests. Prepares and delivers all reports and analysis, if required, per deadlines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.Field of Study: Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.Experience: Generally, 6 to 8 years of related experience including 2 to 3 years in insurance accounting or other specialty area. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and insurance related certifications (Program in General Insurance (INS), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), etc.) are preferred.Proficiency in Excel is preferred.Experience using Workday/Adpative Accounting Systems is a plus.Business Unit: Executive LiabilityBenefits:We offer competitive healthcare, retirement, and paid time off benefits for full-time and part-time benefit eligible employees.
