Assume responsibilities assigned by the principal for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive educational program.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:12 MonthsEight (8) hours per daySupervision duties on nights and weekendsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide leadership, oversight, and coordination to ensure the Discipline/Attendance Office is efficient and effective.Supervise and evaluate the Dean of Students and 10 Month Assistant Principal and provide assistance in regards to discipline/attendance and interventions.Establish guidelines for proper student conduct and maintain student discipline/attendance in coordination with District policies and procedures. Make referrals to appropriate person or services, as needed.Create, supervise and evaluate interventions for diverse learners.Coordinate the creation and revision on the Student/Parent handbook and provide oversight on the implementation of the procedures outlined in the Student/Parent handbook.Manage Skyward Message Center CommunicationsAct as the summer school administratorSupervise and evaluate the building Security TeamOversee the SOAR program and Freshman Mentor programUnderstand, support and oversee the coordination and implementation of District and Building level initiatives as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.Prepare related materials for expulsion hearings to the Board of Education.Evaluate certified and support staff as assigned.Supervise students before, during and after school, including extra-curricular activities and summer school.Provide assistance with the coordination of the Safety/Discipline Committee and the required safety drills.Serve as LEA for IEP, 504 and MDR meetings.Demonstrate strong communication skills with all stakeholders and provide individual opportunities for parents/staff to discuss matters such as student progress, attendance and discipline issues.Communicate effectively with students and their parents regarding disciplinary/attendance consequences and measures to prevent future consequences.Provide feedback to the principal regarding the implementation of policies and procedures, strategic initiatives, and the school climate.Show organizational ability, sound judgment, courage and conviction, and receptivity to needed change.Provide clear and consistent direction to staff, students and parents on a continuing basis.Introduce, promote, and develop constructive ideas and collaboratively develop the ideas of others.Anticipate and be resourceful in coping with problems in a consistent manner.Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior.Demonstrate sound judgment.Demonstrate courage and conviction.Show receptivity to needed change.Participate actively in District and/or school activities and committees.Provide for the safety, health, and welfare of students and staff.Have knowledge of state statutes and policies regulating and affecting secondary schools and interpret these for staff, students, and parents.Keep current with best practices and requirements as they relate to the job assignment.Perform such other job related duties and assume such other professional responsibilities as assigned or delegated.Represent Hononegah Community High School in a professional manner.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Illinois Professional Educator License with Administrative EndorsementAt least three years of experience as an administrator is preferredANALYTICAL & INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents.Ability to write routinely and speak effectively before groups of employees.Ability to work independently and in an acceptable time frame.Ability to maintain efficient office procedures and systems for keeping track of requested action and reports.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and apply basic concepts of algebra.Ability to apply critical thinking skills and new technologies in rendering solutions to various technical issues.Ability to use technology for word processing, collaboration, presentation, database, and spreadsheet programs and the use of other office equipment.Ability to establish and maintain effective, appropriate working relationships with students, staff, and the community.Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with proper technique.Ability to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and sit for extended periods of time.Ability to bend and twist at the neck and trunk to maneuver office work spaces.Ability to hear and see close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and perceive depth.Ability to use fine motor skills to complete detailed work for use on office equipment and technology.Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 plus Board-paid benefitsSelection Procedure: Selection procedure will be discussed if applicant is contacted for an interview.
