Job Description:Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for rendering professional, technical and age appropriate peri anesthesia nursing care for pre and post surgical and pre and post anesthetic patients. The individual in this position provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process and directs or supervises support staff and collaborates with physicians and multi-disciplinary team members.$15,000 SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE!Full-Time Days, 11:00am-11:30pmHealth/Retirement Benefits:

Education / Experience: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Minimum of two-years nursing experience, with at least one year in critical care, Pediatric experience and PACU setting preferred. Pediatric Critical Care experience is preferred for the Pediatric PACU setting. Refresher course required for nurses who have not worked in an acute setting for five years or more.Licensure and Certification:
  • Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and PALS completed within one year of hire
Essential Functions
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with the health care team, patients and family /visitors.
  • Promotes a safe and healthy working environment by utilizing clear communication, collaboration and teamwork.
  • Utilizes the nursing process and adheres to policies/procedures/guidelines to ensure efficient, appropriate and safe patient care. Documents care accurately in EMR.
  • Provides appropriate teaching and direction for patients and family through consideration of age, physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious and environmental needs.
  • Provides age/developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Good interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to safely provide direct and indirect patient care.
  • Knowledge of airway management and management of patients in altered states of consciousness.
  • Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring, fluid management, anesthetic agents and dysrhythmia recognition.
  • Knowledge of Infection Control Practices.
Work Environment:
  • Work with critical patients and in emergency situations.
  • Subject to highly stressful situations.
  • Work in continually changing work environment.
