JOIN REDMOND!The City of Redmond Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a welcoming, positive, and responsive professional to join the Customer Experience team. The Customer Experience Representative is a forward-facing role with high customer interaction, responsible for supporting a consistent guest experience throughout all the Parks and Recreation center locations.Hours: Variable. The position is limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week on average and no more than 1,040 hours per year.Specific roles may vary, however here are some key dates to know:
  • Staff training scheduled mid-late April
  • The Redmond Community and Senior Center opens Monday, May 6, 2024
  • Shifts available Monday-Saturday, 8am-9pm
  • Some shifts may have late rental hours to midnight
  • Sundays may be required when rentals occur
Locations: Work may be conducted at multiple City of Redmond centers including City Hall, Redmond Community and Senior Center, the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village, and the Old Fire House Teen Center.Please view the job classification for complete job details.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Models the Parks & Recreation internal guest service philosophy by delivering a high-quality guest service experience in-person, on the phone and through email.
  • Manages the guest registration experience by providing program details, answering questions about services, and enrolling guests in programs and activities.
  • Conducts tours of the facility for prospective user groups, and answers questions about rental fees, policies, available dates and ongoing usage.
  • Responsible for check in of facility rentals; confirm permit details, review rental guidelines and expectations, ensure all tables and chairs are accessible, and serve as the point of contact during the rental period.
  • Uses the Activity Registration software system (SmartRec) to conduct customer transactions, process payments, pull reports for staff and complete data entry assignments as requested by the department.
  • Handles difficult, sensitive and escalated guest relations situations and acts to resolve the situation.

  • Proven customer support experience
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient on basic technology platforms such as email and Microsoft suite applications

  • Demonstrate teamwork and personal accountability through approach to service
  • Communicate and interact effectively with staff, program participants and the public.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in customer service, sales, reception, retail or other related experience.
Physical Demand:
  • Depending on the type of event, position will require ability to set up rental spaces, etc. For example, moving/picking up chairs, tables, etc. Additionally, may require set up of athletic equipment or activities.
