To find out more about our commitment to sustainability and about Amcor, visit .Job DescriptionSafety CoordinatorNicholasville, KYSalary-ExemptJob DescriptionPosition Overview:Responsible for supporting and assisting the EHS Manager with safety initiatives within the plant.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assist EHS Manager to deliver in-house training programs in various areas.
  • Support EHS Manager to facilitate work instruction meetings, training sessions and other focus groups as requested.
  • Maintains work instruction file database and creates/revises work instructions as necessary.
  • Participates in “Best in Class” initiatives.
  • Assist in coordinating Millville Safety Program and be an active member of the Safety Committee.
  • Follows-up on safety concerns and works with departments to rectify safety hazards. Completes safety audit on monthly basis and follow-up on items identified on such audits or those submitted by committee members.
  • Performs periodic safety-related audits/inspections and prepares action plans.
  • Supports EHS Manager in the incident investigation process.
  • Performs risk assessments and job safety analysis as needed.
  • Collaborates with appropriate department personnel to resolve identified hazards.
  • Maintains the EHS Bulletin boards with updated documentation as needed.
  • Performs other safety related duties/assignments as deemed necessary or requested by the EHS Manager.
  • Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices and any other applicable Prerequisite Programs associated with the Food Safety System
  • Understand and follow EHS policy and requirements specified in applicable EHS documents.
  • Know where applicable system documents are located.
  • Prepare EHS New Hire Folders for orientation.
  • Collect and grade New Hire and Temporary Associate Knowledge Check quizzes.
  • Assist in other administrative duties related to EHS: filing, copies, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Associates degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Safety Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with plant and corporate personnel
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of various computer software and training programs
