Job DescriptionFluor, together with its joint-venture partner AECOM, has been awarded a four-year program delivery support services contract for the California High-Speed Rail program by the California High-Speed Rail Authority, to provide program delivery and program management services to support one of the largest planned infrastructure projects in the U.S.The system will connect the 500-mile stretch between the Los Angeles region with the San Francisco Bay Area, with up to 24 stations. The first phase of the program is currently under construction in California's Central Valley.Fluor is seeking results driven Project Coordinator/Manager to join our team on the CAHSR Project in Fresno, CA. This position will report to the Deputy Director of Infrastructure Delivery. This position will provide Program-wide reviews, analysis and recommendations on all issues that may confront the direct progress and performance of all field construction activities for multiple civil construction segments of the project. Each segment has a value in excess of $500 Million which must be executed in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. We are seeking an individual who thrives in a fast pace, high energy environment, and takes pride in delivering big landmark projects.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate and control projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems and requirements approved by the company.
  • Leader in approving all schedules, equipment plans, financial projections, cost-to-complete and project status reports for the duration of the project.
  • Maintains exceptional relationships with owners, subcontractors and 3rd Parties.
  • Responsible for problem resolution involving potential barriers to starting work on time.
  • Ability to execute field construction activities in conformance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
  • 11 years of experience on heavy civil infrastructure projects, with a self-performing general contractor
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strong decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills with ability to remain calm while taking charge in critical situations.
  • Certification in project management suggested, for example, Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Proficient in some of the following: Word, Excel, Primavera , HCSS Safety.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
  • Experience in managing risk.
