Position: Trauma Reg Coord-Data AnalystDepartment: Trauma Program AdminShift:8AM-4:30PM/Full-Time/ 80 HRS PER PAY PERIODFacility: Miami Valley Hospital on-siteThe Certified Trauma Registry Coordinator – Data Analyst will report to the Trauma Program Manager. The Certified Trauma Registry Coordinator – Data Analyst will appropriately identify patients that meet Ohio State Trauma Registry and National Trauma Data Bank standards and then accurately abstract, code, and enter identified patients into the database. The individual will be responsible for overseeing orientation and training of any additional registry staff and ensuring the validity of their data. The Certified Trauma Registry Coordinator – Data Analyst will work closely with the Trauma Program Manager, Trauma Quality Management Coordinators, Trauma Outreach Coordinator, Physicians, Injury Prevention Manager, and Research staff to construct and generate reports for performance improvement, outreach, injury prevention and research initiativesEducationMinimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GEDAdditional requirements:Preferred educational qualifications: Health Information Management or related fieldLicensure/Certification/RegistrationCertified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) (preferred) or required within 2 years of hireCSTR-Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (optional)ICD-10 Course within the past 5 yearsAAAM AIS CourseCertified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) within 1 year of hireExperienceMinimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experiencePreferred experience: Knowledge of EPIC and ESO TraumaBase preferredOther experience requirements: Experience or knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology required.Must be a High School graduate and have one of the following:Previous registry experience.Associate degree in Health Information Management (HIM), Computer Science, or other related field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.Knowledge/Skills
