Pittsburgh, PAJob Summary: The Environmental Compliance Specialist works with Project Managers and Senior Technical Advisors to ensure that PVE’s clients and prospective clients operate in accordance with applicable Federal and State regulations pertaining to stormwater impacts, air emissions, waste generation and reclamation, etc. This individual will assist Senior Technical Staff with environmental compliance assessments, NPDES permitting, waste management reporting, and related services. The Environmental Compliance Scientist prepares permit-required materials demonstrating compliance with permits, emissions reports, discharge reports, results from compliance sampling and related documents. Reports and documents include figures, tables, text, email correspondence, etc.) to describe and/or present results of compliance investigations.Responsibilities:
Assists with tasks related to the following:
- Conducts research, investigations and analyses for projects including but not limited, Petroleum Bulk Storage compliance, Stormwater Permitting (NPDEs), Spill Prevention Controls and Countermeasures (SPCC), Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPP), Facility compliance audits, UST investigations, Act 2 program sites, sample collection, sample delivery, documenting sampling procedures.
- Assisting with the planning and executing environmental site characterization investigations and remedial actions.
- Receives and reviews analytical data, assemble tables, figures (with assistance from staff GIS and AutoCAD Technicians).
- Prepares conclusions and recommendations in written and verbal form.
- Works with Project Manager on research related projects.
- Excellent attention to detail,
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Working knowledge of USEPA, PADEP, OEPA, and other regulatory authorities.
- Solid knowledge of general environmental health and safety standards.
- Completion of OSHA HAZWOPER training.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license.
