The Department of Pediatrics Division of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Allergy, and Immunology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and the UVA Children's Hospital, seek candidates for a clinical faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, to join our growing team. The position is ideal for a highly motivated candidate with strong interest in advancing their academic carriers through excellence in clinical practice, teaching, quality improvement, and advocacy. Clinical and translational research opportunities will be available as well. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both pulmonary and sleep medicine, although we anticipate that sleep medicine will be the focus of their clinical effort. Rank, track and compensation are dependent upon qualifications.The Division of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Allergy, and Immunology currently has five faculty members with a strong support staff including a nurse practitioner, two RN clinical coordinators, a respiratory therapist, pulmonary function technicians, and two administrative assistants. The medical center has just made a major commitment to expand pediatric sleep services and we are looking for a dynamic individual to oversee this aggressive growth plan in the role of Medical Director. We currently have one of the largest accredited pediatric sleep lab in the state of Virginia and a 100% expansion of the sleep lab has been approved, with the plan of hiring of a sleep psychologist, advance practice provider with a focus on sleep, and sleep program coordinator in the coming months.We have a dynamic pediatric pulmonary section with certified programs in cystic fibrosis (where we are also a member of the CFF-Therapeutics Development Network), primary ciliary dyskinesia program, and neuromuscular medicine. We also have growing programs for technology dependent children to go along with an expanding aerodigestive program. Patient care is provided on grounds in Charlottesville at our state-of-the art outpatient facility that is complemented by a robust satellite program in the Richmond area and anticipated creation of future satellite program(s). Outpatient care is complemented by an active inpatient consultation service. The division houses NIH-funded research and a strong teaching tradition.University of Virginia Health is composed of the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, University Physicians Group and the Medical Center.
