Do you have experience as an Occupational or Physical Therapy Aid with a Bachelor's Degree and passionate about delivering the best 1:1 care possible? We are seeking a caring and dependable person to support a young lady with special health care needs. This position would be provided in family’s private residence, as well as in the community (Northeast Philadelphia area) on occasion. Friday nights 2 - 7 pm, and rotating weekend shifts 10 am - 6 pm (flexible, 5-8 hours per shift).Our ideal candidate:· Understands the concept of a Person-Centered team approach to care· Is energetic· Is mindfully engaging, but at the same time, good at reading cues when to be quiet· Likes to take walks and visit museumsJob Duties and Responsibilities:· Sometimes, join parent(s) on medical visits· Understands seizures and learn how it impacts individual. Recognize the different types of seizures and when rescue meds are necessary.· Monitor skin integrity and skin care· Experience with positioning, stretching, and following current therapy orders· Monitor and document oxygen levels and blood pressure· Monitor proper hydration· Responsible for all documentation· Assist with changing disposable briefs, bathroom hygiene regime, and showering· Meal preparation (pureed food experience, necessary)Requirements:· Able to lift 50 lbs.· Ceiling glide and manual Hoyer lift experience, necessary· Experience with nebulizer, suction machine and if needed, the oxygen machine· Will switch job locations (within 5 miles of both homes), between parents' homes mid-week. Need to be flexible as support may be with either father or mother more or less any given week. On Septa bus routes 58 at one location and 66 at second location
