- Vehicle Operation
- Safely drive any MetroMarket bus or truck to and from scheduled destination in a timely fashion while maintaining standard DOT compliance regulations.
- Operate any MetroMarket bus or truck appliance such as refrigeration systems and diesel generators.
- Preventative Maintenance
- Perform daily preventative maintenance to maintain appropriate fluid levels and optimal functioning of any MetroMarket bus or truck.
- Monitor oil, transmission and coolant levels, generator hours, and manage fueling schedules.
- Market Sales
- Assist MetroMarket Lead with grocery operations, which includes loading and unloading products on and off the vehicle, assisting with customer check out on-site, maintaining a clean store environment, and providing excellent customer service to MetroMarket customers.
- Cash Management
- Assist the MetroMarket Lead with accounting of cash generated at POS.
- Ensure the register is accurately reconciled daily.
- Ensure daily reports and cash is sent to the MetroMarket Lead
- Monthly and Weekly Reporting
- Reporting of vehicle performance and required maintenance at meetings and as needed.
- Reporting of any on-site needs at meetings and as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- A valid Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one required.
- 1+ years of experience driving large vehicles.
- Experience working with a multicultural workforce.
- Experience working in retail; grocery or produce a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to learn processes quickly.
- Ability to work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Knowledgeable working with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to establish positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Must be an effective team member and maintain a professional demeanor with the ability to listen to others.
- Knowledgeable on nutrition and cooking a plus.
- Must have Hep A vaccination or willingness to obtain it.
- Flexibility in working hours for occasional special events after-hours or weekend activities.
- Willingness to volunteer for other OFS duties that don't fall under regular job duties.
- Ability to lift at least 25lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8-10-hour shift), both indoors and outdoors.
