This position will be responsible for the installation and service of end-user physical security systems. The role requires at least one year of experience, technical aptitude, and professional appearance. Our client's physical security division is composed of products and services related to VSS (Video Surveillance Systems), ACS (Access Control Systems), and IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems). This position reports to the Security Project Manager.Responsibilities for this role include:
- Beginning and/or entry-level industry/manufacturer certifications including but not limited to:
- Bosch
- Genetec
- CCure
- Lenel OnGuard
- Ability to give direction to small numbers of crew members (i.e., the lead may task a T3 to run a small crew on a particular floor of a building or a specific aspect of the project)
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders:
- Communication with PMs on manpower and material needs
- Communication with clients/customers
- Basic programming of some and/or all systems
- Ability to troubleshoot basic issues across different systems within the division.
- Opens/short circuits.
- Grounded circuits
- Voltage, amperage, resistance
- Device use, relay logic, fail-safe/secure.
- The reading and understanding of wiring diagrams for edge devices.
- Trimming of panels
- Mid to high-level understanding:
- Electrical theory
- ACS, VSS, and IDS
- Install electric locking hardware:
- Strikes
- Panic bars
- Electrified handsets
- Maglocks
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully independently and in a group setting.
- Basic understanding of the standard tools used in the division.
- Hand tools
- Power tools
- Digital multi-Meter
- Understanding of cable routing standards
- Cable installation
- Pathway installation
- Understanding of installation techniques, including but not limited to:
- Wire stripping
- Wire terminations
- Edge device terminations
- All T1/T2/T3 requirements.
- OSHA 10 is preferred but not required for hire.
- Aerial lift certification.
- Fall protection certification/training.
- Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and climb.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Able to work on a ladder for up to 8 hours.
