This position will work no more than 39 hours per week. The pay range for this position $18.29 - $27.44/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.LocationThis position will report to 4495 Jason Street in Denver but will work at various locations throughout the City of Denver. The typical schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will participate in rotating on call after-hours/weekend/holiday emergency response.What You’ll DoDenver Parks and Recreation’s Amenities team is seeking a Seasonal Aquatic Utility Worker to support the operation and maintenance of Denver’s extensive network of pools. This position will focus on the maintenance and cleaning of pools and interactive splashpads. To that end, DPR is committed to:Examining department policies and processes that value diverse perspectives and eliminate barriers to inclusionIdentifying where inequities exist and implementing strategies to ensure equitable outcomesStrengthening diversity in Parks and Recreation services by transforming policies to institutionalize equityReinvesting in resources aimed at ensuring DPR is an equitable and just organizationSpecifically, as the Seasonal Aquatics Utility Worker you will:Work indoors and outdoors to help prepare and maintain pools and splashpads for summer operation and winter shut downWork alongside experienced skilled trades workers to learn best practices in responding to aquatic maintenance requests and scheduled projects or tasksAssist with troubleshooting, repair, and installation for pumps, motors, filters, computerized electronic controls, plumbing, and pool equipmentHandle hazardous chemicals such as chlorine, bromine, muriatic acid, and test kit materials for pool set upsUtilize electrical testing devices and check switches and wiring for grounds, shorts, or loose connectionsRepair and replace defective pool operating systems, pumps, chlorine feeders, heaters, and chemical controllersSupport operations to maintain, clean, or restore infrastructure and facilitiesUse and maintain various hand-powered tools and motorized equipment in a safe and efficient mannerPerform snow removal operations such as plowing, shoveling, and de-icing as neededPerform various related duties as needed such as trash collection, bathroom maintenance and cleaning, vandalism repair/graffiti removalAbout YouWhat You’ll BringWe value diversity of ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, gender, religion, language, ability, and experience and exemplify this through the makeup of our team at all levels.
