- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and payment histories.
- Define risk levels, manage them daily and anticipate risks to advise proactively prior to customers being put on hold.
- Release systemic hold based on throughout analysis, investigation of risk, and credit guidelines.
- Validate the opening of new client’s accounts, establish credit limits and terms for customers based on risk assessment, financial analysis and credit policy.
- Monitor and review customer accounts to identify potential credit risks and delinquencies.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate credit risks and minimize bad debt losses.
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to address credit-related issues and find solutions that align with business goals.
- Conduct regular credit reviews and propose adjustments to credit terms when necessary.
- Investigate and resolve customer disputes and payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to credit and risk management.
- Prepare reports and presentations on credit and risk performance for management review.
- Assist in the development of credit policies and procedures to improve overall credit management effectiveness.
- Maintain and update all tax-exempt certificates from customers to limit exposure.
- Analyze and assist in the resolution of litigious cases including in direct negotiation with the client.
- Stay on watch for regulatory developments and market trends.
- Perform analysis, reporting, and management of other insured products such as liability insurance, etc.
- Other AD-hoc tasks as requested by Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, credit management, or a similar role, with a strong understanding of credit insurance relationships, contracts and dealing with insurance brokers.
- Proven experience in credit analysis, risk management, or financial analysis, preferably in a consumer goods environment.
- Knowledge of credit assessment techniques, financial statements analysis, and risk evaluation.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
- Solid understanding of US bankruptcy laws.
- SAP experience a plus.
