The person in this role will be required to successfully complete Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training and meet all certification requirements. The Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for leading and executing assigned process improvement activities & projects. Project opportunities are identified by a Continuous Improvement Steering Committee. The Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for defining the scope of a problem, gathering data to establish the baseline performance, identifying appropriate process metrics, identifying various factors that relate to outcomes, using statistical tools to perform root cause analysis, developing potential solutions to root causes and working with Process Stakeholders to implement corrective action and control plans. This position will be responsible for multiple projects at any given time.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Assist in identification & scoping of improvement project opportunities.
-Lead process improvement projects & teams using the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.
-Develop & implement data collection plans and track data metrics for process improvement initiatives.
-Assist stakeholders in the development & implementation of process metrics.
-Mentor & coach others in the use & application of Lean Six Sigma tools.
-Lead & conduct Lean/Kaizen events.
-Develop, assist and utilize Lean Six Sigma Green Belts in execution of projects.
-Assist stakeholders in the implementation of selected continuous improvement projects.
-Gain proficiency and provide assistance in the utilization of statistical software and the interpretation of results.
-Achieve annual targeted project savings.Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Forestry or related disciplines relevant to manufacturing, forestry, ecological services and other company business operations is preferred
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience
  • Ability to achieve Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Affinity to work in an industrial environment
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Self-disciplined and motivated
  • Ability to form & work with teams of varying education backgrounds and skill levels
