- Communicate revenue management strategic vision to President/CFO and other members of leadership team.
- Provide oversight of third party vendor relations and contracts that affect Revenue Cycle.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal and other applicable departments across Cayuga Health System to monitor and implement changes (when needed) relating to Revenue Cycle to ensure we operate within State and Federal Rules and Regulation. Ensure all stakeholders (including front line staff) know and understand the changes.
- Responsible for facilitating CHS Revenue Cycle committee as a conduit to collaborate effectively with all departments to ensure appropriate and timely charge capture, ensure understanding and implementation of coding/billing updates streamline process to maximize efficiencies, and to resolve and prevent denials. Responsible for project management of action plans developed from findings of the committee.
- Develop, implement, monitor and maintain key performance indicators for Patient Access, including, but not limited to, eligibility and authorization. Collaborate with leadership to develop a system wide strategy, develop objectives and goals to ensure an optimal patient experience.
- Supports contract negotiation activities via data trending and reporting.Facilitates creation of memos, policies and procedures for Cayuga Health System.
- Work to identify new technology, tools and key initiatives that will reduce cost or improve workflow and the patient experience.
- Manage pricing strategy for the system.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in business preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years management experience in hospital revenue cycle department, to include Patient Access and Patient Financial Services. Extensive knowledge of governmental and managed care reimbursement. Extensive knowledge of hospital billing requirements. PC skills in a Windows environment are required. Knowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Experience with Meditech version 6.1 and Relay Assurance preferred.

- Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., typing, use of computer and keyboard) may require light lifting and carrying, including boxes, equipment, stooping and kneeling (e.g. to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting for long periods of time.
