- Must possess at least one year of documented experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Must have completed any formal allied health or vocational school, or community college allied health program. Disciplines covered may include, Medial Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician.
- Must have a current CPR certification.
- Daily checks of medical equipment and supplies in the urgent care room
- Obtain and record vital signs.
- Transcribe orders and recommendations from specialist consults into BEMR
- Perform PPE and supply inventory.
- Perform signs/symptoms, temperature screenings for staff and inmates as needed under COVID-19 Modified Operations
- Assist BOP medical staff with administration of medication and insulin.
- Plants Tuberculosis Skin Testing (TST) and reads results.
- Obtain 12-Leads ECGs
- Perform nasal swab testing as needed.
- Assists with other clinical tasks within the scope of certification as needed.
- Assist the Pharmacist with tasks within the scope of certification as needed.
- Review and comply with local institutional policy, Bureau of Prison Program Review standards, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), American Correctional Association (ACA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other state and federal regulations.
- Perform quality assurance audits in BEMR and other administrative tasks as assigned.
