The Iowa Primary Care Association is actively recruiting a general dentist for a community health center, also called a federally qualified health center, in Marshalltown, Iowa.Position Details:
  • Eligible for student loan repayment up to $50,000 for two years of service (and eligible to renew)
  • Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday; 8 AM – 5PM
  • Average # Patients seen per day: 13 + additional hygiene checks.
  • Current Staff: 2 general dentists and 2 registered dental hygienists. DA:DDS ratio = 2.5:1
  • Evenings/weekends: none
  • Call: After 6 months of employment, dentists are expected to take call in 2 week increments, approximately 3x/year. This is after hours call, over the phone only.

  • Current license to practice dentistry in the state of Iowa.
  • Current registration with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners (CSA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers Certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
  • Current Mandatory Reporter Training: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse recognized by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Ideal Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Desire to pursue a long-term career in community health
  • GPR or AEGD residency completion
  • Interest and experience in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery

  • Your experience and skills determine your base pay. The hiring range for this position is typically $150,000 - 170,000, though highly experienced candidates may earn up to $204,000 per year.
