- Establish trusted relationships with each client to ensure program objectives are met/exceeded and opportunities for repeat business and referrals are secured.
- Qualify and add additional events/meeting space beyond initial scope.
- Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue while also meeting customer needs.
- Solve challenges and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements, engaging the sales manager when necessary.
- Contract third-party vendors and direct all aspects of each rental/service activity based on individual program needs.
- Support Reservations team with group room block management following contract turnover.
- Serve as property liaison informing and managing all cross-property teams in support of every group program to ensure flawless execution.
- Generate group resumes and banquet event orders (BEOs) adhering to hotel standards and meeting document due dates.
- Attend daily operations meeting, BEO meeting, group resume meeting, pre-conference meeting, post-conference meeting, and additional meetings as needed/requested.
- Work closely with sales team, offering advice regarding logistics to assist in lead conversion, VIP site inspections and key opportunities, in an effort to maximize hotel revenue.
- Personalize each event and create upselling opportunities.
- Enhance service elements to exceed contract minimums.
- Data collection input for tracking revenue streams for each group (i.e. group forecasting).
- Act as liaison between sales manager and customer throughout the event process (pre-event, event, post-event)
- Identify operational challenges and work with staff to solve those challenges and develop solutions
- Assist and provide overall support in training and mentorship of events managers and coordinators
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hospitality and event management, preferably within conference services
- Understanding of the Hawaiian Islands and key differentiators between each island
- Ability to maintain a service oriented style with professional presentational skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
- Experience and success in owning high-level events and experiences in a luxury setting
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
