- Management of personnel up to two (2) direct report employees, their workloads and their development plans for future growth.
- Consistently work on and provide guidance on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues as well as an understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ability to interact with the team to gather, interpret, analyze, and develop recommended strategies and present information
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge and working understanding of Foreign Governments (primarily Japan, Korea, Australia, United Kingdom, and Canada) Acquisition and Procurement environment, the BAE Systems Contracts function and relevant company policies and procedures, commercial contracting methods, export and other government regulations.
- Independently lead and support proposal activities including, but not limited to analysis of solicitations, preparing summaries and developing strategies and recommendations based on the analysis, with attention to the financial and business risk of the proposed effort, participating in all proposal team meetings, preparing the terms, conditions and assumptions upon which the proposal may be submitted, reviewing the technical and pricing proposals for accuracy and consistency, conducting overall business risk analysis and preparing the proposal documents for submittal to the Customer. Responsibilities also include coordinating with other company functions as required to ensure appropriate reviews are conducted, scheduling required reviews, and obtaining required review and approval signatures prior to submittal of proposals or execution of contractual documents.
- Research and make recommendations on proposal and contract language. Ensure that all necessary functions review recommendations and terms, with minimal direction and guidance needed from the Contracts Director.
- Lead contract negotiations and collaborate with customers in definitizing and completing the contract under general guidance from the Contracts Director.
- Advise management of contractual rights and obligations, risk mitigation alternatives and business strategy.
- Perform all aspects of assigned contract or purchase order processing including, but not limited to, accuracy of order entry data, contract funding, scope changes, contract amendments, receipts and delivery schedules, legal requirements and other commitments.
- Lead or support fact-finding and other audit activities.
- Participate in final stages of assigned contract by (1) verifying completion of all commitments, and (2) performing assigned activities associated with contract closeout.
- Maintain logs of proposals and other data as required and assist in data collection for monthly/quarterly reporting to Management.
- Compile and maintain all required contractual records and documents in accordance with contract requirements and Company policies and procedures.
- Act as primary point of contact between the Company and the Customer for all contractual matters on assigned contracts and projects, including auxiliary agreements such as Proprietary Information Agreements and other business agreements.
- Participate in the drafting and negotiation of various agreements, and coordinate any legal reviews as appropriate on behalf of the business.
- Support Program Managers, Product Line Directors, and Business Area leads and provide contracts advice and counsel to Company management at all levels as required.
- Develop specialized contracting knowledge in areas such as International Business, Offset and Teaming Agreements, if required.
- Regularly contribute to the development and implementation of new business methods, processes and contracting concepts in order to achieve business unit and Contracts Department goals and objectives.
- May participate as an assessor in the Phase Review Process.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Works with Program personnel and other Company functions as required. Develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with internal Customers.
- Develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with external Customers.
- May work extended hours or weekends. Sporadic travel as necessary to support the business.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor Degree and 8+ years relevant experience required to include at least:
- International Contracting experience
- Cost Type / Cost-Plus Contract experience
- Firm Fixed Price Contract experience
- Prime Contract experience
- Offset/Industrialization Experience
- Expert knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations
- Experience with complex contracts and proposal preparation and execution
- Experience briefing senior level management
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

- Supervisory Experience
- 6 years Cost Type / Cost-Plus Contract experience
- 6 years Firm Fixed Price Contract experience
- At least 6 years of Prime Contract experience
- Certification as CFCM or CPCM highly desirable
- Master's Degree/MBA
