- Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources including Powerschool and Aspen.
- Analyze complex data sets using statistical methods and data visualization techniques.
- Work with leadership team to synthesize data for various stakeholders including leadership, staff and the Board of Directors
- Identify trends, patterns, and correlations in data to provide actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand school based requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
- Implement data quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization techniques.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data models and algorithms.
- Submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to various stakeholders including Chicago Public Schools.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques for hypothesis testing, regression analysis, etc.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
- Certifications in data analysis or related fields (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional) are desirable but not required.
