- Assists residents with activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, hair care, nail care, mouth
- Transports residents to and from activities and/or appointments, in a timely manner.
- Assists licensed personnel with treatments and collection of specimens as directed.
- Takes vital signs (TPR & BP) and performs glucometer checks as directed.
- Assists in keeping residents' rooms neat; replenishes care items as needed.
- Observes residents and answer call bells in a timely manner to determine residents'
- Assists residents with shopping, packing or unpacking personal belongings when
- Responds to Fire and Disaster alarms and drills according to procedure. Assists
- Serves between meal nourishments as ordered by physician.
- Participates in in-service education programs and staff meetings and maintains
- Participates in the orientation of new nursing personnel.
- Assists with meal service (including set up, resident assistance, delivery and clean up).
- Participates with and encourages resident engagement in activities.
- Supports nursing staff with orientation of new residents as assigned: assists with
- Assists with ambulation, therapy programming etc.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Must have a valid New Jersey Certified Home Health Aide license.
- Current certification as a Certified Home Health Aide
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
