- Supervise and lead a team of glass installers and glaziers to ensure efficient and precise installation of glass panels, windows, storefronts, and curtain walls.
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to develop installation strategies and coordinate workflows accordingly.
- Allocate tasks and responsibilities to the installation team, setting clear expectations and providing guidance throughout the project.
- Ensure that all installations are carried out in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify the accuracy of measurements, fittings, and alignments of glass components.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment used in glass installation, ensuring their proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Address any technical issues or challenges that arise during installation and collaborate with the team to find effective solutions.
- Manage the inventory of glass materials and supplies, coordinating with procurement to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Communicate regularly with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.
- Uphold a culture of safety by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings, and promoting a safe working environment.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Complete installation projects within specified timelines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Proven experience as a Glass Installer, Glazier, or in a similar role, with a track record of successful glass installations in commercial construction or high-rise settings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of installers.
- In-depth knowledge of various types of glass, glazing systems, and installation techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively coordinate with the team and stakeholders.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to glass handling and installation.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Relevant certifications or training in glass installation, glazing systems, and leadership (preferred but not mandatory).
