The role will meet requirements for "required experience" while working towards your CPA credentials.What We Are Looking ForThe Staff Accountant performs accounting activities to record, analyze and monitor financial information. The Staff Accountant prepares financial reports in a manner that ensures accuracy and compliance with company accounting policies. This position acts as a resource for accounting and general administrative staff and is responsible for a broad array of accounting duties.This is a fantastic role for a strong performer who is looking to greatly expand their knowledge of ledgers, consolidation, and financial reporting within a growing company. NOCO is committed to developing its people for higher roles within the department as well as other functions and across its operating entities. We seek a detail-oriented professional to assist with a wide range of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting functions associated with NOCO's financial reportingWhat You Will Do
  • Oversee and prepare journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit trail support for the journal entries.
  • Analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals.
  • Prepare and distribute financial analyses and reports.
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring budget.
  • Collect and analyze financial data and prepare monthly combined financial statements and reports. Perform additional analysis for explanatory text required for reports and statement.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Assists with the preparation of annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans assigned areas.
  • Assist with annual audit preparations and investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Assist with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
  • Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
  • Must have a strong work ethic; do what is required to meet deadlines.
  • Must be team-oriented and able to fulfill and adapt to the requests of our internal and external customers.
  • Ability to interface and communicate ideas effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks demanding of immediate attention, and to juggle multiple, on-going, concurrent responsibilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maximize productivity.

  • Expertise in the following computer programs: MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook.
