JOB DESCRIPTION:As a Service Technician at Comfort Systems of Montana, you'll engage in a variety of tasks including the replacement, inspection, repair, and installation of HVAC units and ductwork, ensuring exceptional customer service and effective communication. We equip our technicians with company vehicles and phones to support their work and enhance efficiency.   • Responsible for replacing HVAC units, including electronic and mechanical components.
  • Inspect and conduct repairs and replacements on heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for customers.
  • Undertake maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC ductwork, addressing improper installations or defects.
  • Manage and recycle CFC or HCFC refrigerants.
  • Install low voltage connections and HVAC system automation components for various applications.
  • Travel to homes and businesses on a daily basis, with occasional out-of-town and overnight trips.
  • Offer and sell products & services such as IAQ, upgrades, replacements, extended warranties, and maintenance contracts.
  • Maintain detailed customer records, including appointments and transactions, using assigned management software.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, simplifying complex HVAC concepts for customer understanding.
  • Adhere strictly to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in diverse locations, maintaining a team-driven and accountable work ethic.
  • Mentor apprentices, ensuring they uphold the same level of skill, work ethic, and professionalism.
  • Understand and analyze customers' complete HVAC needs, recommending and closing sales on related products and services.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Candidates must possess a robust technical knowledge of HVAC systems and installation processes, including the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and HVAC wiring diagrams.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to personal tools are essential.
  • Strong communication abilities, a positive attitude, exceptional self-motivation, excellent time management skills, and a keen attention to detail are required.
  • Candidates should have a strong work ethic, outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, and be able to handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Availability for evening and weekend work, a professional appearance, and exemplary customer service skills are mandatory.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least five years of experience in the HVAC field is necessary.
  • A 4-year college degree is preferred, though not mandatory, with equivalent on-the-job training or vocational schooling, preferably with a focus on the HVAC service industry.
  • Candidates must have, or be willing to obtain, EPA Certification (Universal) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 608 certification exam/cert.
  • NATE Certification, or willingness to obtain it within 6 months, is required, with continuous education and company support offered.
