The Mobile Mechanic is responsible for operating, installing, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining all types of power generation and industrial engine/rental equipment.
Duties * Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain diesel, natural gas and gas engines.
  • Read schematics and diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical problems
  • Conduct installation and commissioning of new units including generators.
  • Coordinate with all systems being installed to ensure all related equipment work properly together
  • Perform both minor and major repairs to the engine, generator or components
  • Prepare all part requisitions and service reports for service and accounting needs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide accurate and detailed information to create repair estimates as required
  • Monitor expenses versus repair estimates and ensure awareness of any cost overruns prior to job completion
  • Adhere to all applicable safety policies and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Perform equipment check-in and check-out procedures
  • Provide emergency dispatch/delivery of equipment to customers as needed
  • Complete scheduled repairs and service safely in the time frame identified while providing superior quality to meet/exceed expectations
  • Maintain all company vehicles, machines, equipment and tooling
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • 2-5 years’ experience as a diesel and equipment mechanic
  • 2 years generator experience and 2 years industrial mechanic experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Must meet DOT regulatory and CBE requirements for operating CBE or related vehicles
  • Proficient with engine troubleshooting tools including Engine Control Modules and gaseous fuel systems
  • Experience with diesel and/or gas engines, generators, and switchgears a plus
  • Knowledge of electricity and electronics including AC and DC circuits along with basic power generation systems
