Duties * Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain diesel, natural gas and gas engines.
- Read schematics and diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical problems
- Conduct installation and commissioning of new units including generators.
- Coordinate with all systems being installed to ensure all related equipment work properly together
- Perform both minor and major repairs to the engine, generator or components
- Prepare all part requisitions and service reports for service and accounting needs in an accurate and timely manner
- Provide accurate and detailed information to create repair estimates as required
- Monitor expenses versus repair estimates and ensure awareness of any cost overruns prior to job completion
- Adhere to all applicable safety policies and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Perform equipment check-in and check-out procedures
- Provide emergency dispatch/delivery of equipment to customers as needed
- Complete scheduled repairs and service safely in the time frame identified while providing superior quality to meet/exceed expectations
- Maintain all company vehicles, machines, equipment and tooling
- 2-5 years’ experience as a diesel and equipment mechanic
- 2 years generator experience and 2 years industrial mechanic experience preferred
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Must meet DOT regulatory and CBE requirements for operating CBE or related vehicles
- Proficient with engine troubleshooting tools including Engine Control Modules and gaseous fuel systems
- Experience with diesel and/or gas engines, generators, and switchgears a plus
- Knowledge of electricity and electronics including AC and DC circuits along with basic power generation systems
