Description :Finding the right fit:Ayres Associates’ structural engineers have proudly served government and private clients for more than 50 years. We are seeking an individual who is eager to learn and has the desire to become a well-rounded structural engineer. You will join a respected structural engineering group who will provide you with opportunities to work on a variety of projects.On any given day, you will:
  • Design a wide variety of new buildings and modifications to existing buildings.
  • Work under the supervision of senior structural engineering staff to design and prepare plans for buildings and other structures.
  • Perform structural design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structural elements utilizing structural design software.
  • Prepare structural drawings and check plan details.
  • Research and apply code requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications for buildings and other structures.
  • Responsibilities may include assisting with structural condition assessments and construction observation, potentially requiring sporadic short-term (typically 1-3 days) out of town travel and overnight stays.
Required qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering.
  • Passed the Fundamental of Engineering exam (FE).
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
Desired skills and experiences:
  • Minimum of 2 years of building design experience.
  • Professional registration a plus.
  • Experience with Revit and RISA or other structural design software.
  • Master’s degree in structural engineering a plus.
