- Providing engineering and design of mechanical and packaged systems with appropriate technical direction from more experienced engineers.
- Engineering and designing digital electronic control cabinets and mechanical control systems components. Mechanical systems work includes hydraulic systems design including Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), Trip Manifold Assemblies (TMA), and hydraulic actuator assemblies for steam turbines. Also, design of rotating equipment speed sensing assemblies and redundant instrumentation panels for gas and steam turbines, Upgrade of gas and liquid fuel delivery systems for certain gas turbine applications.
- Applying knowledge of manufacturing practices and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to produce high-quality and cost-effective mechanical and packaged systems designs using 3-dimensional solid modeling and 2-dimensional computer aided design (CAD) software.
- Creating and maintaining of material masters and bills of material in the business information system (SAP).
- Providing customer support related to assigned projects and areas of expertise.
- Developing project engineering documentation suitable to meet customer and internal functional requirements.
- Developing instructions for product installation and commissioning for field services.
- Providing technical sales support for generation of customer proposals.
- Developing project specific test specification procedures, and technical manuals.
- Ensuring compliance with internal and industry technical regulations, standards, and other regulatory requirements.
- Have 2+ years' experience with industrial equipment in Power Generation, Metals, Pulp & Paper, Chemical plants and other industries using rotating machinery.
- Proficiency in the following additional software applications / platforms: MATLAB, Visual Basic, MS Excel Macros, MS Access, MS Visio, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office, Teams).
- Engineering experience in steam, hydro, or gas turbine auxiliary equipment and applications.
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
