Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. Stewards in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management are seeking an intern who will work with Public Affairs within the BLM Utah’s Color Country District to communicate the agency’s policies, programs, and projects effectively to the public and stakeholders. The Public Affairs Specialist – Content Creator internship offers an invaluable opportunity to contribute to community outreach and media relations efforts, enhancing public understanding and engagement with land management and conservation practices.Position Responsibilities will include:·Inventorying, Updating, and Editing Contento Manage and refresh content across district websites and public resources·Content Creationo Develop engaging stories and posts for social media and other platforms to inform and captivate the public·Field Visits and Reportingo Visit project sites to gather information, conduct interviews, and document findings for public disseminationMinimum Requirements:·Applicant must currently be enrolled in college or university.·Interest in public affairs, media relations, and land management·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.·Possess Valid US Drivers License with an insurable driving record of 3 years·Applicants must pass criminal background checks for both DOI and AmeriCorps eligibility·Must be 18 years or older·Must be a US Citizen or legal US residentBenefits:·Position is eligible for an AmeriCorps education award upon successful completion of the program.
