- Design and develop manufacturing processes to support the introduction of new or improved product designs, improved manufacturing methods, product components and materials
- Translate product specifications into process requirements to design proper tooling, machine, and process features
- Spec, investigate, and source equipment to be used in the manufacturing processes
- Lead cross functional teams to drive capital project conceptualization, development, business case creation, and project planning to meet the business goals
- Support process implementation including issuing initial process specifications, completing process FEMAs, evaluating work instructions, and managing the process validation
- Help improve the product development process by providing DFM input
- Ensure the safety and reliability of new processes as it relates to operations and product quality
- Isolate critical data outputs of the processes and define key indicators of process performance
- Generate and upkeep proper documentation of the process development cycle
- Foster strong relationship with members of the operations team and vendors
- Continually grow your personal knowledge and technical ability
- BS Or Greater in Chemical or Mechanical engineering required
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility is preferred
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and database software that has helped you track, analyze, form conclusions, and communicate a message throughout your career
- Experience in 3D modeling (Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor) is strongly recommended
- Capability to work with and write programming languages (Python preferred)
- Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools is a strongly recommended
- General understanding of PLC’s and industrial automation is preferred but training can be provided
- Project management skills are encouraged and a willingness to learn is required
- You will work in both office and manufacturing environments. Battery manufacturing employs chemicals, heat, and heavy equipment; and as such you will at times be exposed to acid, fumes, noise, dirt, hazards, and chemicals. In all cases you will be provided with appropriate PPE.
- You must be able to see, hear and speak, able to sit, stand for at least two hours at a time, bend, crawl, squat, kneel, climb, able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals, lift 40 pounds from floor level, able to work below ground level in confined spaces and on stationary or mobile elevated platforms, able to wear respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Travel may be required at times to review equipment run-offs or meet with vendors. The work primarily occurs in Alpharetta, GA. Locating somewhere other than Alpharetta will require a high level of travel as the expectation is that you will work very close with the rest of the engineering group.
