Job Summary:Using drawings or verbal directives, independently plans and lays out framing for renovations. Coordinates other trades and performs carpentry aspects of renovations to allow for proper flow of work. Installs doors and frames and door hardware. In lieu of general carpentry renovation skills, builds and installs millwork in existing spaces to include verifying space requirements, adjusting millwork sizing to fit space, building and, installing cabinet doors and hardware and building bookcases and other specialty items such as book cases and shelving. Read blueprints and shop drawings, supervises helpers as assigned, demonstrates a good knowledge of building systems and procedures and materials used in their construction. Performs additional related duties as required to meet project schedules including clear communication with supervisor and assisting co-workers in the construction department (not limited to carpentry work only, you will be required to help other trades in times of need). Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.Performance Expectations
  • Demonstrates the ability to lay out and install new walls and sheet rock.
  • Demonstrates the ability to build and install millwork.
Qualifications:Education/SkillsHigh school diploma or GED required.Work Experience:Ten years previous work experience as a carpenter preferred. Less experience may be accepted if work history supports the ability to meet the requirements for the job summary.Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
