- Supports and promotes understanding of CMOAR’s mission and core values to the public and media.
- Enhancing organizations identity, public image and positioning, fostering positive external relations and building long-term strategic alliances.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with local, regional, statewide, and federal leadership.
- Collaborates closely with leadership to advance the organization’s vision, promote the strengths and success of the clinic, and build CMOAR’s reputation as a trusting, long standing organization in the community.
- Develop focused strategies to increase the impact of our efforts to raise funders’ awareness of CMOAR’s story and history.
- Oversee communication efforts for delivering consistent, clear messaging to all internal and external stakeholders regarding the organization's main initiatives and strategic priorities.
- An active, public role as a spokesperson and representative of Clinica when needed to introduce/compliment the organization’s goals.
- Researching and evaluating public perception of Clinica and/or proposed PR campaigns, which may include conducting focus groups or coordinating surveys.
- Initiating and planning PR campaigns - analyzing problems and opportunities, defining goals.
- Writes and develops material tailored to the specific audience and adapts communication tone to meet the needs of the specific message being conveyed.
- Developing and maintaining good working relations with the media, including local newspapers, magazines, radio and television.
- Coordinates promotional campaigns for visibility and fundraising purposes in the electronic and print media.
- Organizing special events with public official and potential donors.
- Represent Clinica at social and political functions.
- Build upon our current efforts to build community leadership and determine need through community-based needs assessment. Act as the Clinica liaison to other community needs assessment projects being undertaken locally.
- Assists in writing and editing program and marketing materials.
- Publicizes organization’s economic and social contributions to appropriate publics.
- Develops programs to sustain organization’s image to external publics.
- Performs activities geared to provide support for fundraising activities such as donors, research and follow up.
- Plans and implements communication plan.
- Responsible for developing annual report, press releases and other communication.
- Oversees program reporting to private sources in collaboration with program managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related discipline and two years of experience working in a corporate, agency or nonprofit environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven plus years’ experience in communications.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate strategy, complex topics and technical language into captivating communications for external/internal audience
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring that all communications, deliverables and projects are precise, professional and delivered in a timely manner
- Proficiency in communicating in multiple media (e.g., print, email, web, video/audio, graphics)
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
