This one-of-a-kind property is a little oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Tunnel Road, just a few quick steps from the tunnel into downtown Asheville. Tucked into the shadow of the demure Mountainside, this distinctive property has a rich legacy of being independently owned in Asheville for over 50 years. Our beautiful boutique motel is situated near downtown Asheville, NC, offering guests a unique and personalized experience. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and creating memorable stays for our guests. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Lodging Connoisseur (#General Manager) to lead our team and ensure our motel remains a top choice for travelers.Responsibilities:
  • Manages all Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Maintenance Staff and Functions including but not limited to hiring, training and development, performance evaluations, and terminations.
  • Maintains and oversees the company's goals for all guest-room and hotel facility quality assurance and guest service reviews
  • Maintains all Hotel and Company standard operating procedures for all departments and assists in developing/refining systems as needed.
  • Assists the Owner in the development of the hotel's annual budget. Reviews and acts to perform against the plan.
  • Maintains cost control systems for staffing, food, and hotel supply inventory.
  • Maintains breakfast service standards
  • Maintains company's customer service standards
  • Contributes to the profitability and guest satisfaction perception of all hotel departments.
  • Enforces all hotel and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures quality services are rendered to meet guest needs and enhance guest relations.
  • Engage in routine (minimum weekly) owner communication/conference calls.
  • Schedules staff according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy.
  • Maintains productivity and labor cost goals.
  • Prepares daily assignment sheets/work for all housekeepers, front desk staff, and maintenance staff and instructs and supervises them accordingly.
  • Orders and receives supplies so as to maintain adequate inventory levels of all dry goods, perishable foods, beer, wine, and hotel supplies.
  • Conducts monthly department meetings.
  • Completes projects as determined by upper management/owners.
  • Other duties as assigned, of which the employee is capable of performing.
  • Fill in as needed (staff call-outs) or during unforeseen labor shortages
  • Acts as lead manager on duty at all times and is able to instruct and handle all property-related tasks without supervision.
  • 24/7 On-call availability for emergencies required

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
