- Work closely with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Product Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Service to deliver innovative new chiller products into production.
- Plan and direct the efforts of engineering and technician teams to meet performance, cost, reliability and quality goals.
- Demonstrate responsiveness to the customer (internal and external) and be quality minded in performance of all duties.
- Apply interdisciplinary engineering expertise to provide technical leadership to highly skilled cross-disciplined engineering team.
- Mentor and coach engineering team members with a passion for personal development.
- Responsible for training and development of engineering staff.
- Manage team member assignments to support product development and production support strategies.
- Ensure fundamental engineering processes are utilized to ensure high-quality engineering deliverables.
- Ability to travel overnight 15-25%.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of work experience in commercial HVAC or product development experience is required.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering is a plus.
- Experience supervising and developing people is preferred.
- Exercise strong communications skills to support highly effective cross functional coordination and collaboration
- Experience with application of key hardware components within a refrigeration system such as coils, fans, compressors, motors and controls
- Demonstrate consistently high leadership qualities, including the ability influence and gain acceptance from members of cross-functional teams without direct authority, to deliver business results
- Understanding of HVAC system functions including refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow and ventilation
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and project management skills
- Knowledge of product development processes
- Must have the ability to quickly and efficiently understand, condense, and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions
- Data & Analytics, making data driven decisions and programming knowledge is a plus
- Able to function and take on a leadership role in a cross functional, global design engineering team environment which requires interaction with design teams, engineering teams, manufacturing and operations staff relative to project requirements, both inside and outside the company
- Team coordination and knowledge transfer responsibility (including seeking opportunities to improve team performance)
