- Assists BU Controller and Business Unit Management in directing and coordinating company financial planning and budget management functions.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and forecast for responsible Business Unit.
- Responsible for maintaining company financial statements and reporting financial results to the appropriate parties and stakeholders.
- Prepares reports which summarize and forecast Business Unit activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- May provide management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
- Works with operations personnel to understand the business and ensure that transactions are being accounted for correctly and creates and improves internal controls and transactional processes.
- May participate in related functional projects such as ERP and Operations system implementations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and procedures including GAAP (generally accepted accounting standards)
- Knowledge of all aspects of accounting functions, principles and internal controls
- Knowledge of accounting and billing systems (QuickBooks and Oracle) a plus
- Software system implementation and change management skills preferred
- Basic direct and indirect tax knowledge a plus
- Process improvement and systems workflow skills
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills
- Three to five years related experience
- CPA not required, but a plus
- Equipment Rental and construction services industry experience preferred
