To assure the timely and accurate administration of medications and IV solutions to patients pursuant to a therapeutically valid prescribe’s order and in accordance with all state and federal regulations as well as established peer standards, hospital policies, procedures and protocols. Working with the Pharmacy Manager to manage the daily operations of all areas of drug distribution, supervises Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Externs/Interns; follows pharmacy policies, procedures and protocols; participates in Performance Improvement activities and maintains readiness for JCAHO accreditation.Required Knowledge & Skills:Hospital experience including Unit Dose, IV Additives, computer literate, good interpersonal and Communicative (written & verbal) requiredEducation:Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from an Accredited School of PharmacyExperience:Hospital experience including Unit Dose, IV AdditivesCertification/Licensure:Current Massachusetts Pharmacy RegistrationSoftware/Hardware:Pyxis.
