- Delegate responsibility for resident care to other nurses and assistive nursing personnel after considering the needs.
- Teach, instruct, monitor, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of tasks and the results of resident care assigned to other nursing staff.
- Ensure that practice is consistent with state licensure laws, administrative rules, policies, and procedures.
- Provide emergency medical care including CPR, using a triage format, to individual residents, staff, visitors, and members of the community.
- Provide accurate, authoritative information to groups or communities, including colleagues and facility staff
- Participate in the development, review, and revision of the policies, procedures, and treatment protocols.
- Investigate and respond to resident grievances, complete unusual incident reports, collect data, investigate, and complete reports
- Ability to work within a team, and resolve personal conflicts in a calm, non-threatening manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with management, colleagues, residents, and the public.
- Ability to respond appropriately and cope with occasionally abusive, harassing, or threatening language and/or aggressive behavior from residents.
- Knowledgeable of psychiatric symptoms.
- Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing and have a valid Washington State Registered Nurse license or the ability to obtain a valid Washington State license by the start of employment.
- 1 year working as an RN is preferred.
- Experience working with mental health patients/residents preferred.
