- Manage a team of six individuals responsible for various accounting tasks across thirteen operating entities
- Support a team of business managers responsible for accounting procedures across some of our broadcast stations
- Prepare and review monthly financial reporting to support Company leadership in strategic decision-making
- Support the development of annual operating budgets, providing valuable insights for performance evaluation and resource allocation
- Ensure revenue recognition compliance by reviewing client contracts and applying GAAP principles
- Drive the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal financial controls
- Stay abreast of accounting standards and regulations, interpreting guidance and implementing processes to ensure compliance
- Coordinate and support Company's annual audit and tax filings
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide clear communication of financial insights and recommendations to leaders across the organization
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; advanced degree preferred
- CPA qualification highly desirable
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in public accounting
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFS
- Experience working with large, complex data sets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to groups with varying levels of financial sophistication
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to work within a team and communicate across all levels and departments of the organization
- Willingness to travel to St. Joseph, Missouri for 2-3 days per week during the initial 12-18 months of the role
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to pass drug and background screenings.
