SUMMARYNorthline Seafoods is a growing seafood processing company looking for an experienced and motivated Housekeeper to provide various cleaning and laundry services aboard the barge Hannah during the Bristol Bay processing season. The season generally goes from early June until early August, though there may be some pre-season planning/ordering that will require part time employment by late April. As we grow, we're looking for an all-hands-on-deck perspective.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Assists in the ordering of supplies and maintains cleaning supply inventory.
  • Cleans all common areas including storage areas, bathrooms, offices, corridors, and stairways.
  • Cleans and stocks all bathrooms and laundry areas.
  • Cleans rugs, floors, furniture, walls, ceilings, windows, doors etc.
  • Provides laundry services to a crew of up to 80 employees on a once per week schedule.
  • Provides laundry services for common use articles like gloves, liners, sleeves, freezer suits and hats.
  • Assists office staff during shift changes to ensure employees are ready for work and have all necessary equipment.
  • Transports trash and waste to proper disposal areas.
  • Performs minor maintenance on washers/dryers, toilets, and lights in housing areas.
  • Ensure that all rooms are cleaned and ready for employees. Clean and prepare rooms after any employee departures.
  • Works in a safe manner always with an emphasis on a zero-tolerance accident mentality.
  • Completes all mandatory training with an emphasis on achieving and exceeding Coast Guard standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous housekeeping experience on a vessel at sea is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of proper cleaning techniques and chemical usage.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly and service like mentality to all working on the barge.
  • Currently has First Aid and AED training or can complete prior to leaving for Bristol Bay, AK.
  • Ability to safety use a ladder to clean out of reach areas on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work 12+ hour days 7 days per week over a 70+ day season.
  • Ability to solve problems and make clear rational decisions in a fast-paced work environment.

This role routinely uses equipment common for cleaning including mops, buckets, brushes, rags, washers/dryers, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc. Cleanliness is of utmost importance in this role. Employee must be able to stand, walk and generally navigate aboard a wet and cold barge environment for long periods of time.
