Primary Focus:
The primary role of the Production control coordinator facilitates the production process by managing inventory levels, assuring material availability to comply with scheduling production on time, and ensuring product quality and material availability on time. They work closely with materials management and production management to keep all cogs in the machine turning / line processes.Specific Accountabilities:
  • Facilitates on time delivery of material as well as production schedule adherence.
  • Communication, on behalf of the Production Control team, with internal suppliers to confirm material deliveries.
  • Provide detailed analysis on anticipated shortages and corrective actions taken to minimize impact.
  • Create and provide daily reports to project materials availability and reduce negative impacts of lack of materials.
  • Update, maintain, and distribute metrics relating to material availability.
  • Maintain the Plan for Every Part in the materials control database, withdrawal, and production Kanban’s.
Working Conditions:
  • This position requires shop work.
  • When working in the shop, one must exercise caution as this environment presents many naturally-occurring and potentially worker-produced hazards.
  • Safety policies must be adhered to at all times.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, hard-toed safety shoes or boots, etc.) must be worn at all times where required.
  • It is very important that the incumbent of this position is able to work and communicate with prudence, while effectively managing time, completing tasks, and working safely.
Education and Experience:Required:
  • Completion of high school or equivalent experience.
  • Analytical problem solver with good communication skills.
  • 6 months+ experience in a manufacturing assembly line setting.
  • Must be proficient in English.
Preferred:
  • ISO, 5S, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, 8D problem solving and Visual Factory Management experience a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product.
  • 1-3 years MRP and Kanban experience – a plus
  • 1-3 years MS Office (word, excel, outlook) – a plus.
