We are still family owned & operated and many of our employees have been with our company for 20+ years.We are looking for multiple full-time Auto Technicians- from entry-level lube technician to Journeyman Technician - to join our busy Ford service department - We have an air-conditioned shop and are currently completing facility upgrades in the service department. 5 NEW STALLS ADDED!***UNION FAMILY HEALTHCARE BENEFITS INCLUDED with no paycheck deductions. Pay rate is hourly based on union scale $15-$37 per hourREQUIREMENTS:
  • Previous experience working at a dealership is preferred.
  • Ford/Lincoln experience a plus.
  • ASE Certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Communication skills – communicates effectively with others.
  • Time management
  • Typing – ability to type efficiently in order to enter repair orders.
  • Personal and professional integrity.
  • MUST be able to pass a criminal background check before starting.
  • MUST have a valid Illinois Drivers License.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose cause of malfunction and perform repair.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Notify service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required and/ if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
  • Document work in a timely fashion.
  • Road-test vehicles when required
  • Attend factory-sponsored training classes, keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
  • Keep shop area neat, clean, and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
