- Provides direction to and coordination of personnel during assigned shifts.
- Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies and equipment. Assembles wraps and sterilizes trays of instruments. Follows proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.
- Monitors biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
- Leverages instrument tracking system to update instrument details.
- Performs basic equipment troubleshooting prior to contacting Biomed or OEM for repair.
- Provides daily station assignments to create appropriate departmental workflow.
- Assists in quality assessments and identifies educational opportunities for staff.
- High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of sterile processing or operating room scrub technician experience.
- 3 years of experience in lieu of education.
- Preferred: Education and/or training in Sterile Processing, Surgical Technology, or other equivalent medical training.
