Overview:
The Production Assembly Supervisor, leads the manufacturing assembly operations associated with assigned area of responsibility, ensuring quality, cost and on-time delivery in accordance with production schedule and appropriate customer/company commitments. This position works under the general direction of the Operations manager, with minimal supervision.Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for attaining metrics, targets and trends for key parameters of assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Communicates performance status to subordinate personnel and management on a routine basis. Provides leadership and technical guidance to subordinates and cell leaders.
  • Plans and determines manpower, loading and budget requirements based on forecasts.
  • Advocates continuous improvement principles and concepts; lead efforts within assigned areas of responsibility to attain the facility’s vision of cellular manufacturing within a lean enterprise.
  • Develops and maintains personnel and process metrics to ensure optimum cell operation and attainment of targets and trends for key parameters.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication among functional departments, management and customers to facilitate early problem identification, slippages, cost overruns, etc., recommends corrective actions, and works closely with cell leaders to ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinates with Facilities to ensure that machine maintenance schedules, operator TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and equipment servicing results in minimum equipment downtime. Interviews and appraises departmental personnel in compliance with federal/state laws and company policies.
  • Guides subordinate cell leaders in personnel related issues. Provides coaching, guidance and training to subordinate staff to maintain critical skills and support a highly cross-trained employee population.
  • Supports models and enforces the company’s personnel, lean, quality, environment and health/safety policies.
  • Represents unit at technical and planning meetings. Participates in Program Management Reviews as appropriate. Briefs customers, officials and visitors on all aspects of respective manufacturing operations.
  • Maintains currency in state-of-the-art.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field, plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in production leadership
  • Must have knowledge of a general technical field such as engineering, contracts administration, finance, or program management
  • Fluent verbal and written skills are required
  • Proficient in the use of computers as well MS Office products including MS Project
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of related experience preferred
