Role OverviewAs a Senior Product Manager at AvidXchange, you embody the full-stack PM philosophy, leading strategic initiatives and applying systems thinking to craft a seamless end-to-end user experience. Your role amplifies AvidXchange's commitment to product excellence, with a vision that navigates complex market dynamics and fosters industry-leading innovation. You'll serve as a catalyst for change, mentoring peers and setting new benchmarks within our product-driven culture. You'll navigate the complexities of a larger product and engineering driven organization and are able to combine the benefits and challenges that come with operating in such an environment. What you'll do
  • Set long-term strategic objectives for product lines, ensuring alignment with market and business needs.
  • Lead product lifecycle ideation, planning, and execution, managing complex dependencies and aligning development with business strategy.
  • Develop a strategic vision based on deep customer and market insights to position products effectively.
  • Measure and optimize key metrics for user engagement and retention across products.
  • Align performance metrics with overarching business strategies, evaluating product performance throughout its lifecycle.
  • Work cross-functionally across the entire organization, acting as the central driver to align people's expectations ranging from engineering, sales, marketing, operations, customer care, legal, finance, accounting, executive management, partners, vendors and, most importantly, our customers.
  • Critical thinking | You'll have the mental capacity to interpret, evaluate, and analyze facts, data, and intangibles, both provided to you and gathered by you to form a judgement, make a decision, or ask additional critical questions. You're able to adapt this skill depending on the initiative or audience at hand.
  • Creativity and ideation | You need to be more than just curious; your natural curiosity will lead you to take unguided self-initiatives, make logical connections, and strike a balance between impossibility and practicality. You have the capacity to imagine how things could be, not just how they are now.
  • Execution | You're not timid but also not abrasive. However, once a course is set you will drive everyone and anyone towards ruthlessly achieving that goal. You're not afraid to stake your personal reputation (in fact, it may be bolstered by it) to get things done. You're not afraid of imperfection when it comes to execution; you're just looking to get things done.
  • Communication | You are able to adeptly communicate across all groups in the entire organization at both the strategic level to executive management the vision and goals of an initiative and its wider implication or place within our corporate strategy, as well as at the tactical level with “boots on the ground” colleagues to clarify requirements, use cases, and atomic deliverables. You'll do so both orally and in writing. Strong deck creation skills and presenting its content is required. You're able to tell a story, not just present the facts.
  • Empathy | Strong empathy allows you to succeed in the following: 1. You'll succeed working in a matrixed organization by not just seeing the other person's point of view, but also truly understanding where they are coming from. This will allow you to create a mutually beneficial solution rather than a “I win, you lose” approach to problem solving. 2. You'll truly understand what your customer and/or end-user is trying to accomplish and what pain points they are trying to solve. You actually feel their pain. Succeeding in both will help you bring the right product to market faster.
What we're looking for
  • 5 or more years in product management, with a history of leading product teams and driving product strategy.
  • Experience in the design of complex migrations with organization-wide impact.
  • Experience in the guidance on Service-Oriented Architecture design choices and architecture.
  • Oversight of a significant segment of the product portfolio with strategic importance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred. Additional certifications in Product Management or leadership can be advantageous.
Bonus points if you have experience in how businesses invoice and pay each other preferred
