Salary Range:Neurophysiology Specialist I ($65K-$85K)General Summary: Neurophysiology IOM Specialist II is an advanced position at NW Monitoring. The Neurophysiology Specialist II performs all modalities and case types (see below) at NWM facilities per NWM policies and procedures. The Neurophysiology Specialist II must be able to use the 10/20 and 10/10 systems for electrode placement, troubleshoot equipment, have a working knowledge of Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology, be able to identify IOM normal variants and abnormalities, provide quality recordings based on patient medical history and study findings, demonstrate flexible and positive attitude, and collaborate well with team members and management. The Neurophysiology IOM Specialist II must be able to monitor studies in the operating room, identify and communicate changes in all IOM modalities real time, perform studies for research, assist in mentoring and training which may include lecturing and/or clinical proctorship, as well as assist in QA program as an auditor and mentor.Modalities and Case TypesOrtho and Neuro SpineModalities: SSEP, EMG, tEMG, TcMEP, TOF, pre/post-positioning baselineNeck/Head/CNModalities: CN EMGEar/eye, Upper Extremity/Lower Extremity, VascularModalities: BAEP, EEG (10-20/10/10 Set up)Gross Brain and Cerebral CortexModalities: Phase Reversal, Sensory and Motor Mapping, After-discharge recognitionMinimum Requirement: CNIM certification and 5 years of IONM experience post trainingEducation: Graduation from a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program, or an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferredReporting Relationship: Regional Clinical ManagerJob DutiesPerform IONM studies per National Standards and NWM protocolsTake call as directed and respond to emergency callCross train in other modalities and regions as neededParticipate in training and competenciesSupport other regions when necessaryAssist with mentoring and trainingAssist in Quality Assurance programPerform all other duties as assigned or requested for the timely operation of the region and organizationLicensures, Certifications, and/or RegistriesBLS certified*All external candidates must pass pre-certification competency*All internal applicants’ competencies must be current have a passing status
